Food Travel and etc.

Lately I have been watching two channels very extensively TLC (Formerly Discovery - Travel and Living) and NDTV good times. With some of the ultimate shows I have ever seen, these two channels just rock. Once you hook onto these channels there is no looking back. On TLC, there is one show called "Man Vs. food" (Title based on the popular show "Man Vs. Wild" on Discovery channel. That is altogether a different story, I will post about it in some other post). The theme is based on finding and eating bizarre food across glob. In one of the episodes, the anchor has to take up a challenge to eat a super spicy burger topped with a sauce made up of "Ghost Chile" certified as hottest Chile in the world. The challenge was so tough that only 3 people out of 100 were able to complete the it. Our hero (Anchor - Richman) takes up the challenge. On his first bite, he gets drenched into the sweat, tears from eyes and burns in throat. The burger is so hot that the anchor uses latex gloves to prevent spice burns (beat that !) After a hard fight of over 30 minutes he finishes the burger and becomes a proud member of "Wall of fame" of the restaurant. Picture 1. (Eating the burger).

The second show (which is best of them) is "Highway on my Plate", completely and truly Indian show aired on "NDTV Good Times". Two anchors Mayur and Rocky are as witty and funny as they could travel across India and eat at as exquisite places as Taj to as shabby place as a road side "Thela" giving the feedback of the places/ people/ food they come across. Add to it the funny "Food Quote" they add at the end of the show and a fun filled half hour entertainment is guaranteed. This has become one of the most entertaining show on NDTV good times and already has a big fan following (Check it on the website). Check out second pic. which is a poster these guys paste on every hotel they visit. I cant believe these guys are getting paid to go to all these places and EAT !!! amazing job I must say.

Till then a YUMMY goodbye :)

Perseverance

I have been sitting on my visa approval for last one month and it seems to be moving at snails pace.
Sometimes (or infact many a times now..) I feel that I am working in a government organization rather than a so called CMM level 5 comapany.
Such is the irony of the situation that the processing time for visa is more in my organization than that in consulate... real test of patience and perseverance.
Today I came to office hoping to see an update mail from immigration department in my inbox. How fool I was to not understand that the timing of immigration department doesnt follow standard organization timings... they think themselves as a separate entity.. voila.
While my petition makes rounds in my company I ontinue to wait... I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams.

"Sometimes we love with nothing more than hope. Sometimes we cry with everything except tears. In the end that's all there is - love and its duty, sorrow and its truth. In the end that's all we have - to hold on tight until the dawn"

New look

I am back..

Last few days have been an awaking for me and I want to do all those things which I have missed for whatever reasons .... so, this is one more thing off my bucket list :-)

I hope I continue the trend.

One of the ironies of courage and why we prize it so highly, is that we find it easier to be brave for somone else than we do for ourselves alone

The Winner

This is my first blog. First blog not only on this site but my first ever blog!! Now that calls for a round of applause.

In this blog I will try to be very funny (living up to my reputation of the most funniest PJ teller) almost all the times.

I have been reading to many blogs lately and I was eager to write my own. Most if the times when you read what others write, you start feeling that hey hang on, I can write too, but when it comes to write on your own, you are short of words, in fact you are short of ideas, and then you start about how busy you are and about your 'nonexistent' work :-). People in IT would know that term.

For every good work there has to be some occasion, so does the blog. I decided to launch (Just to give a grand feeling to it, assuming that my blog was an 'awaited' thing in the public) my blog on the eve of dussera. But poor me, it never occurred to me that I would be home during dussera, away from my Internet service provider - my workplace :D. So the first occasion missed. Then came many days and nights each of which would have been the day when I wrote my first one. But some stupid PPTs (Yes I am doing some managerial work nowadays for a developer's salary :D) and some self proclaimed work held me back.

Then came the day 21st of October. The day started with a beautiful, misty morning. India was almost on the verge of crushing Australia in the Mohali Test match... yeah man I was looking forward for it. Amidst all this there was a client visit scheduled for today, where in we have to see our seniors deliver the presentation done by us :D, so I know it was :D. India defeated Australia convincingly - by 345 runs, it couldn't have been a better beginning for the day.

Later came the client, there was nothing special about it, as it was pictured to us. 2-3 minutes of meaningless discussion and that's it. The only interesting thing that happened during that period was they ave us the pen.. with their names embossed on it (I blurry remember having seen a similar pen in my childhood having embossing "Maharashtra Shasan :-) ).

Later in the day.. we (Me and some of my maniac friends) decided to participate in a Rangoli competition. I have once helped my sister drawing rangoli by bringing the box containing colours and that's it !! nothing more than that, i don't know how to draw even a dot with rangoli, and none of my male friends in the team, but still we have participated. And yeah I am looking forward for it.

Just when i am about to finish my first grand entry, a sweet surprise has come.. I have won some intra-office contest. The contest is supposed to test the general knowledge of the contestants, but its merely a contest of searching fast. But having said that I wont play down my success, after all I have searched all the answers fastest and I am the winner !!! :D
